New Master Class for Professional Heraldists
Dec 1, Gothenburg Swedish Heraldic Society organised a new seminar for professional heraldists. At the seminar I held a lecture about details that a professional heraldist must solve when he/she designs or compose a coat of arms. This was even an opportunity for discussing other issues that a heraldist can meet in his/her work. The Swedish Heraldic Society stated that my lecture was very appreciated.

The Swedish Schools Inspectorate is an Agency under the Swedish government.
The agency is responsible for supervision and quality assurance in regard to preschools (primarily the municipal preschools), compulsory schools, upper secondary schools and the various forms of adult education. University colleges and universities, however, have a different supervisory authority.
The primary aim of the Swedish Schools Inspectorate is to contribute to school improvement and development. The overall goal is a school system where all children have equal rights to a good education and knowledge in a secure environment.

Coat of Arms for the Croatian Priest in London
Mar 3, Eskilstuna On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Fr. Ljubomir Šimunović’s Priesthood, I composed a Coat of Arms for him. Fr. Ljubomir is the Head of the Croatian Catholic Mission in London. The motto of Fr. Ljubomir’s Priesthood comes from Psalm 116, 12-13: ”What should I repay to the Lord for all that He has done to me? I will take the Cup of Salvation and call upon the name of the Lord.” Therefore is the Chalice the motif that dominates in the Arms. The Chalice is decorated with the eight-pointed Star that symbolizes Stella Maris (Our Lady) and the Star of Bethlehem (Holy Land). The Star also symbolizes the Franciscan devotion and presence in the Holy Land. The waves symbolize the waves of all important waters: from the Water of the Baptismal Font, over the water from the Adriatic sea, to the water of Lake of Gennesaret. The upper colors symbolize Croatia, the lower colors symbolize Ireland (in which Fr. Ljubomir started the pastoral care for Croatians). All four colors can be found in the Coat of Arms of Croatia as well as in the Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom (in which Fr. Ljubomir currently serves). In heraldry, silver (Argent) symbolizes purity and joy. The colour red (Gules) symbolizes love and patriotism, blue (Azure) symbolizes fidelity, and gold (Or), also painted as yellow, symbolizes supremacy. ”Ljubav i mir” (Love and Peace) is a motto derivated from the name Ljubomir, also a motto well suited to a Franciscan.
According to Archbishop Bruno Bernard Heim, one of the greatist heraldists ever, everyone should have a Coat of Arms. A Coat of Arms reminds us about the principles that are important to us and it helps us to both remember and follow them!
